General information

This policy explains which personal data are processed when you visit hilde-lang.org, for what purpose and on which legal basis. Personal data are all data by which you can be identified personally. The website consists of static pages. It sets no cookies, uses no tracking and no analytics, and loads no content from other providers. Its only script is a small file of its own that switches between light and dark: if you press the sun button, your browser keeps that choice in its local storage under the name hilde-theme. The choice never leaves your browser.

Server log files

When a page is called, the server records technical data that your browser sends: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page (referrer), and the browser and operating system you use. These data are processed to deliver the website, to keep it stable and to keep it secure, for example to detect and prevent attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in the technically faultless and secure operation of the website. The log files are deleted after 30 days, unless a security incident must be investigated. The data are not combined with other data sources.

Contact by e-mail

If you write an e-mail, the address and the content of your message are processed to answer it. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your message concerns a contract or steps before one, and otherwise the legitimate interest in answering requests, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The data are deleted when they are no longer needed for the request and no statutory retention period applies. There is no contact form on this website.

HTTPS

This website is delivered only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). You can recognise it by the address beginning with https:// and the lock symbol in your browser. Apart from Cloudflare, which delivers the pages as described below, no third party can read on the way the data you request from the website.

Hosting

The website is hosted in Germany by Hetzner Online GmbH. The server log files described above are recorded on its servers.

Cloudflare as content delivery network

This website uses the content delivery network of Cloudflare, Inc., USA. Requests to the website pass through Cloudflare's network, which delivers the pages faster and protects the website against attacks. In doing so Cloudflare processes technical data of the request, in particular your IP address. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in a secure and reliable delivery of the website. Data may be transferred to the USA. Such a transfer is based on suitable safeguards according to Art. 46 GDPR, the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to have them rectified (Art. 16 GDPR) or erased (Art. 17 GDPR), to have their processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR), and to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). Where processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you may object to it for reasons arising from your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
